Mentor Profile: Ben Noble

Ben Noble named his studio after a bridge. In Norse myth, the Bifrost is the rainbow bridge that connects one world to the next, and that's a fitting emblem for what Ben actually does: he helps artists cross from the raw idea in their head to the finished record in the world. He's made that crossing himself more times than most, which is exactly why he's good at guiding other people through it.

Ben is a Minneapolis-based artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist with fifteen years of writing, recording, and releasing under his belt. His own catalog runs deep, over 250 songs and several albums, with a fourth full-length due out in spring 2026. As an artist his sound is hard to pin down on purpose, drifting from gentle, folk-leaning songs to stranger, synth-heavy, experimental territory. Through all of it, the throughline is the same: he's chasing his own truth in the work, and he knows firsthand what it costs to get it out.

That lived-in experience is the thing he brings to the room. He built The Bifrost, a studio just outside downtown Minneapolis, to be the kind of space he always wished he'd had as an artist. He's fluent on guitar, piano, bass, synths, and drum programming, he's worked across nearly every genre, and he offers producing, mixing, engineering, songwriting, arranging, and creative coaching under one roof.

What Ben brings

Ben works with artists at every stage, from someone with a single voice memo and no idea where to start, to an established band tracking a full record. Because he's spent fifteen years navigating the practical and emotional labor of being a working artist himself, he's as useful for the "how do I even do this" questions as he is behind the console. He knows the music industry can be daunting, and a lot of what he offers is simply steadiness: someone who has wrestled with the same mixes and the same doubts and come out the other side with finished songs. His whole aim, in his words, is to help you make music that actually sounds like you.

He also thinks past the recording itself. Through his Live at the Bifrost session series, artists walk away with more than a polished track: short clips for reels, behind-the-scenes footage, and still frames they can use as press photos, so a single session becomes a stream of content instead of a one-off. And if you're nowhere near Minneapolis, that's fine too, since he's worked with dozens of clients remotely. If you are in the Minneapolis area, Ben has started his own songwriting groups that culminate in a sharing circle after weeks of work - a great community to be a part of.

Who Ben is good for

If your songs live somewhere between genres, if you're intimidated by the "how" of recording, or if you want a collaborator who has released enough of his own music to understand how personal the whole thing is, Ben is your guy. He's especially strong for writers who want their production to feel adventurous and distinct rather than off-the-shelf, and for artists who value a coach as much as an engineer.
